Summary

This hybrid position is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers, while also actively identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities within an assigned territory. The Driver & Sales Representative will serve as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring exceptional service and fostering strong relationships to drive business growth.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Delivery & Operations
○ Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers, adhering to all safety procedures and traffic laws.
○ Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and report any maintenance issues.
○ Load, transport, and unload products at customer sites and company terminals.
○ Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to meet customer needs.
○ Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork.
○ Adhere to all company safety protocols and National Safety Code (NSC) regulations.
○ Utilize all terminal equipment competently.
○ Minor maintenance skills on vehicle may be required.

Sales & Business Development
○ Actively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
○ Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers.
○ Conduct cold calls, networking, and other sales activities to generate leads.
○ Develop and deliver sales proposals to prospective customers.
○ Monitor market conditions and competitor activity, reporting findings to management.
○ Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
○ Manage initial customer complaints and escalate to management for resolution.
○ Provide feedback from customers to management.

Customer Service & Relationship Management
○ Provide exceptional customer service, acting as a professional representative of the company.
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
○ Proactively identify opportunities to increase sales and expand business with existing customers.
○ Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner.

Planning and Teamwork
○ Provide input to management for annual sales plan.
○ Maintains a sales opportunity pipeline and periodically reviews with management.
○ Shows initiative for supporting team members and provides back-up to peers.
○ Keeps a high level of respect and care for customers and co-workers at all times.

Qualifications and Skills
● Valid Class 1 or A driver's license with air brake endorsement (Z), and any other required endorsements.
● Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification, if required.
● Proven experience in a delivery driving role with a strong safety record.
● Previous sales experience, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets.
● Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
● Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to work in all weather conditions and varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.
● Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
● Familiarity with the fuel, agriculture, and construction industries is an asset.
